Our friends at SE Electronics are delighted to announce a new small diaphragm condenser microphone at Summer NAMM 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee. The new SE8 contains a new hand-made capsule with an advanced backplate design that helps recreate a very balanced sound that is never harsh or aggressive perfect for sources like high-hats and drum overheads.
SE also claim that the SE8 to be one of the quietest small-capsule mics on the planet, yet still being able to work under extreme loads of up to 139 dBSPL with no attenuation and 159 dBSLP with the 20dB pad this mic is built for the studio and the stage.
The tiny SE8 features a fixed cardioid pickup pattern with a 10 and 20 dB attenuator switch and 80 and 160 Hz, 6 dB/Oct high-pass filter.
The SE8 is available as a single unit with a clip, thread adapter and windscreen and also as a matched pair with 2x SE8 microphones with clips adapters and windscreens with the addition of a stereo bar and metal case.
We look forward to trying the SE8 on stage and in the studio soon for a review but in the meantime, you can find our more at the SE Electronics website.
