DDMF has announced an update to their Metaplugin plug-in chainer and wrapper plug-in or as Avid prefer us to call it a plug-in hosting plug-in.
Metaplugin V3 Features
- A "native" 32-64 bit bridge with seamless plug-in window integration
- A dedicated plug-in organiser to have all your plug-ins in sight all of the time so that you can just drag and drop plug-ins from there onto the graph area
- Up to 4 times oversampling, without having to reload the current plug-ins as you had to do with Metaplugin v2
- A proper stereo sidechain input
- Support for Apple's native Audio Units that are normally hidden from the file system
- While it has been a VST3 host for a while, Metaplugin itself now also comes in the VST3 format
For New Metaplugin Users
For those who do not own what DDMF describe as "this Swiss Army knife of plug-ins" the price, remains unchanged, at $49 + VAT where applicable
For Existing DDMF Metaplugin Users
For the first time since its release in 2011, are charging an upgrade fee for owners of their Metaplugin v2 who would like to upgrade to this new v3 release for $19. They hope you will be able to enjoy all those new additions and improvements and keep following the further evolution of Metaplugin over the coming years and they tell us that all subsequent v3.x updates will, of course, be free. Existing owners should have received a special email which includes a special code to enable you to get v3 for $19 instead of $49.
Note that all owners of Metaplugin v2 who purchased on or after April 1st this year do NOT bneed to buy an upgrade. You should already have the new version in their account.
However, DDMF stresses that you must use the same email address for the purchase of the update that you've used already for the purchase of your current Metaplugin license.

In this video, Russ gives a full show and tell review of the DDMF Metaplugin v2. This allows users of several DAWs to host plug-ins and VIs that would not normally be possible. For example Pro Tools users can host VST and AU.
