ADK Microphones has announced an exciting collaboration with renowned microphone designer David Bock. Bock, known for his extensive experience and multiple TEC nominations, has made significant contributions to the audio industry through his work with David Bock Audio and Soundelux Microphones. ADK Microphones and Bock have a history that dates back over 15 years, during which he played a pivotal role in the development of ADK's Custom Shop tube mics.
ADK says the latest collaboration focuses on the redesign of their flagship Z²-Mod series, which consists of six tube microphones. Unlike traditional clones of classic microphones, the Z²-Mod series aims to capture vintage tonal profiles while offering significantly improved specifications tailored for modern recording studios.
The series includes six models:
Z²-12,
Z²-47,
Z²-49,
Z²-67,
Z²-251, Z²-800,
each representing a historical reference tone-profile.
ADK states that these microphones are manufactured in the USA and customised for each client. They come equipped with a heavy-duty, continuously variable power supply and are packaged with ultra-deluxe accessories, ensuring a premium experience for users. The new David Bock Z² designs are now shipping and are available at a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $3998.
