New in Melodyne 4: The Sound Editor
The new “Sound Editor” in Melodyne 4 studio, thanks to “Polyphonic Spectral Shaping,” offers hitherto unknown possibilities for sound design. You have direct access to the overtones in your recordings and can influence the sound in a unique way – perfect for subtle coloration and unusual filter effects as well as hybrid or way-out, experimental sounds.
New in Melodyne 4: Multitrack Note Editing
With the new “Multitrack Note Editing” in Melodyne 4 studio, you can see, select and edit the notes of as many tracks as you like simultaneously. This allows you to modify melodies and harmonies with the same ease whether the notes are on the same or different tracks, and also to synchronize notes on different tracks with swift precision.
New in Melodyne 4: Tempo Shaping
With its new tempo detection algorithms, Melodyne 4 can determine accurately at each instant the prevailing tempo of the music, even when no click was used when it was recorded. With the Tempo Editor, you can rein in the acceleration without ironing out the smaller, desired fluctuations that give the performance life. And naturally you can synchronize rigid loops and even other live recordings perfectly to all such fluctuations.
The Melodyne ARA Pro Tools Track Hack - Import Faster Than Real-Time
In this video, Dan Cooper from Pro Tools Expert shows you a very clever workaround to Melodyne ARA in Pro Tools. Studio One users know this feature well, now it's time for Pro Tools users to benefit from a faster Melodyne / Pro Tools workflow.
Watch to learn how to import (transfer) audio into Melodyne faster than real-time transfer using Pro Tools 12.
Users must have Melodyne 4.1 and Pro Tools 12.3 or above for this hack to work.
Thanks go to Pro Tools Expert Community member Dave Zimmerman for sharing his new-found Melodyne Hack.
