Using distortion on parallel bus. I find that using distortion on parallel bus can add so much to a mix. Adding distortion to an instrument such as bass, keyboards, snare and sometimes Kick drum will make the instrument cut through the mix.It wont sound distorted in the mix, but the distortion will add a bit of a special something that will make the instrument pop through the mix without overwhelming it. I find that doing so via a parallel bus gives me the power to choose just how much I want to push it through. Try it on any instrument you wish and experiment with it and I’m sure you wont be disappointed.
