Dave Marsden has done the right thing and set up a petition on the DUC with the aim of lobbying Waves to Produce AAX DSP versions of all their plug-ins.
I for one, have signed it and we are very happy to tell you about it too.
As a Waves super user, prior to me upgrading to Pro Tools HDX, I contiinue to be disappointed that Waves are not producing AAX DSP versions of their plug-ins and the longer they leave it the less dependent I will become on Waves plug-ins. The Renaisance range especially were all my ‘go to’ plug-ins and then when working in surround their 360 bundle was essential.
This is what Dave says on the petiton site…
Waves is quite possibly the worlds leading 3rd party plug-in developer. Audio professionals the world over have relied on Waves’ TDM products for many years. Many have made a significant investment in Waves products.
Waves has stated that it will NOT be producing an AAX DSP version. This is disaster for many of Waves’ TDM customers and a significant setback for Avid’s new HDX platform.
The intention of this petition is to persuade Waves to produce AAX DSP versions of its products and continue to support it’s loyal customers as they migrate to the latest generation of the industry standard DSP based recording system.
It is important to stress that many of Waves’ previous customers will not be investing in Waves products in the future UNLESS AAX DSP versions are produced.
Every time the petition is signed an email will be sent to Gilad Keren, CEO of Waves and comments@waves.com.
So I would encourage all Waves users that are planning to, or have upgraded to HDX from TDM or Native, and value Waves plug-ins to sign the petition. But please don’t hijack it to trash Waves about any other issue. If you do, it will trash the campaign. So if you don’t care about Waves or don’t intend to use AAX DSP then please leave it be. Thanks, Mike
