When Avid released Pro Tools 10 back in October they announced that over 35 3rd party developers where signed up to the new AAX plug-in format, although at the time they only listed 14 companies. However using the list that is on the Avid AAX page on their site I have done a qualitative analysis as to where we are up to as of today.

Waves were on the original list but are the only company listed that isn’t on the Avid AAX page. They are planning AAX Native plug-ins but have no plans for AAX DSP plug-ins |
So this makes for some interesting reading. There doesn’t seem to be any correlation between big and small developers. Some have delivered, others haven’t. But again it seems Avid were making promises they couldn’t fulfil What do you think?
