McDSP has announced the release of SA-3 - the latest version of its Engineering Emmy Award winning dialogue processor. We have the details…
Released in 2015, the SA-2 was originally based on the “Sonic Assault” limiter that was custom-built for Academy Award winning re-recording mixer Mike Minkler and used on over 100 major motion pictures. Fast forward eight years and McDSP has propelled it into more modern times with the new SA-3 adding several new features including more than 1,000 bands of processing, a user programmable Bias curve, unique Focus, Range, and Density control over spectral processing, side chain support and mid/side processing.
The SA-3 is said to be great for removing unwanted spectral spikes in dialogue, vocals, and many other kinds of audio inputs. The SA-3 is also able to track and eliminate persistent peaks, at nearly any frequency in the audio spectrum. The gain reduction, final output, or removed signal can be monitored and metered in the main LCD screen. Plot scales can be adjusted for gain reduction and output displays.
SA-3 Feature List:
Over 1,000 bands of processing
User programmable Bias curve to identify and remove signal spikes and persistent overtones
Unique Focus, Range, and Density control over spectral processing
Side chain support
Double precision processing
Mono and stereo versions
