McDSP has just announced iLok Cloud Support for its entire product line. This will available as a free update for McDSP plugins v6.5 and later and will enable McDSP customers to choose between using an iLok dongle and the iLok Cloud authorization process.
No Need To Have An iLok
With iLok Cloud, McDSP plug-in users no longer need to have an iLok. Users will still need to have an iLok account, which can be set up for free at www.ilok.com. Users will also need to install the latest version of iLok License Manager to manage your authorizations and active an iLok Cloud session and as we have discussed in previous articles, you will need an active internet connection to run iLok Cloud sessions.
What Is iLok Cloud?
iLok Cloud has been designed to offer the same authorisation experience as with an iLok, without requiring the iLok USB dongle. The good news is that McDSP plug-ins can now be authorised from an iLok Cloud session hosted over the internet. As long as the computer running McDSP software has an internet connection, a user can demo or authorize any McDSP plug-in. Users will still manage their licenses from the iLok License Manager application. Check out this short video explaining iLok Cloud and how to authorize a McDSP plug-in using an iLok Cloud session.
How Can I Upgrade My McDSP Plug-ins To v6.5
The update to version 6.5 is a free update for any McDSP v6 user. Simply go to the Download section of the McDSP website and get the latest update. You will find that there are versions for Mac OS and Windows and for both the HD and Native plug-ins.
