In this premium video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert team member Julian Rodgers looks at sample rounding, those unexplained timing errors which sometimes happen at certain tempos when duplicating clips down the timeline.
Julian demonstrates how these errors can happen and then dives deep into the maths behind why it happens. The answer lies in the maths and the fact that while tick length and tempo always play nicely together (because they are directly linked) but sample rate is absolute and at some tempos the maths just doesn’t work.
Avid recommend using Repeat (Alt+R) instead of Duplicate to avoid these errors.
