In this premium video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert team member Julian Rodgers explores one of the most overlooked plug-ins among the stock Pro Tools plug-ins - Recti-fi.
What Is Rectification?
Rectifiers change waveforms using diodes - electronic components which only allow current to flow in one direction. By using these it is possible to generate a frequency an octave below the input signal. Recti-fi rectifies signals and includes filters to shape the resulting frequencies. In this tutorial Julian demonstrates this using an oscilloscope to see the effect on the waveform and a spectrum analyser to show the resulting frequencies.
