In this week's Friday Free Plug-in, we are featuring the first of two plug-ins from HoRNet, their Harmonics plug-in.
HoRNet describes their Harmonics plug-in as a wave shaper based on the Chebyshev polynomials. Its nonlinear processing is designed to let you adjust the level of harmonics added to the signal, so being able to warm it up in different ways.
The plug-in provides 10 harmonics generators of which you can set the amplitude and phase, increasing or decreasing the impact of the harmonic on the input signal. The resulting sine wave equivalent shape is displayed on the right side of the GUI.
HoRNet Harmonics also provides you with ways to create interesting distortion, try removing the fundamental frequency (set the first slider to zero) and create a “broken record” sound, or use one of the presets to explore the different possibilities offered by the plug-in.
Features
- Individual harmonic manipulation
- Adjustable level and phase for each harmonic
- 10 different harmonics generators
- Mac OS X (>=10.5 Intel only) and Windows support.
- 64-bit compatibility both on Mac and Windows.
- Audio Units AAX, RTAS, VST2.4 and VST3 format.
How Do I Get This Plug-in?
If you go to the HoRNet Harmonics page you will see that the Download button is blocked with a floating window. To get this free plug-in you will need to share it on social media. When I originally tried there was also a Google+ option, but it didn't seem to work. So I reached out to HoRNet and Saverio came back to me apologising that the Wordpress plug-in he uses doesn't work with Google+ anymore, so you see that you only have Twitter and Facebook options available. Once you have shared the news the Download button will become accessible and you will be able to download the installer.
