Three Winners Of Seventh Heaven Professional
Ken Madewell
I started with a "bedroom "studio when a friend was producing a project for a guy out of Nashville. After they had spent several days in his studio they called to see if I would take them fishing for a break. After fishing they came to my house for dinner, my house overlooks the lake.
After dinner they wanted to listen to what they were working on in my studio. His client was so at ease and relaxed here he asked if they could finish their project at my house.
After this happened a second and third time with a variety of clients the writing was clearly on the wall - I managed to break ground and have built a semi-private studio overlooking the lake.
Although small, we've had some very reputable clients come through here.
Stephen Donohue
My name is Stephen and I produce electronic music in my home studio under the name Foreign Technology. I’m influenced mainly by the music of late 70's and early 80's artists such as Gary Numan, Ultravox, and Japan.
My studio is based around a 2013 Mac Pro running Logic Pro and a whole lotta plug-ins! I have also started to integrate hardware back into my setup in the forms of a couple of the Roland Boutiques (JX and JP), Korg Monologue, Moog Sub37 and DSI Mopho SE.
I can't wait to get 7HP into some of my mixes!
Andy Green
I run Cornerhouse Productions with my wife Wendy from our converted Garage at home near Manchester, UK. For over 20 years we’ve been recording, arranging, composing and mixing projects for a wide range of clients. We work with local artists and with musicians and record companies across the world. A lot of our time is spent working with Christian songwriters, churches etc.. helping people bring their songs from a basic idea to a fully formed result.
We also write and produce Library music as well as trying to find time to make our own albums! Oh - and we also have 4 kids to keep us on our toes!
My setup is based around a Mac Pro Trashcan using a variety of DAWS (depending on the project in hand). I’m excited to add another reverb into the plugin folder - I’m sure it will get a great deal of use! Many thanks to LiquidSonics and to Pro Tools Expert

Stephan de Wit
Let me first start off by saying that I really appreciate the hard work Pro-Tools Expert does for the music recording industry. The knowledge and insightful information they provide keep professionals like me well informed and up to date with current trends and technology, not just related to Pro-tools.
I am originally from South Africa and studied Audio Engineering at SAE in London, UK before moving to Australia. I have been a Composer/Sound Designer on films and Engineer/Producer on music for 20 years. I have worked at many commercial studios before starting my own music and sound production company under my music composing name "Stephan de Wit".
I have recently started working with clients on Pro-tools cloud collaboration, this enables me to work with a lot of people without having to move all around the world.
My favourite reverbs have mainly been Lexicon like the 224 digital reverb. When I heard about Bricasti M7 I did some research and found it was designed by 2 Ex_Engineers from Lexicon, I was not Surprised, it sounded Great! Unfortunately, I was not in the position to buy the hardware but when Pro-tools Expert posted the link to win a Seventh Heaven I had to enter. I did not know a related plugin existed. Luckily I had a win. Its a great plugin. I have only played with it for 1 day and already found it could get me what I coin "Ghost Reverb" something I have been looking for in software for a long time. Thanks Dan from Pro-tools Expert and Matt from Liquidsonics. Check me out here, my future mixes will definitely include the Seventh Heaven.
Amaury Laurent Bernier
I've played bands over the last 15 years. In that time I've been a composer, producer, arranger and also a session musician. This journey has led me naturally into the film scoring path. I’m living now between Bordeaux - France, and Hamburg-Germany. Most of my work consists of working in the commercial field and animation. After working with another composer, David Gana, we created D%A Factory and co-composed all the music for the kick-ass slapstick series Atomic Puppet which is currently broadcasted worldwide. I've also recently worked on my first feature film thanks to the composer team Kaiser & Maas - they’re doing an awesome job by the way.
Most of the time, Directors and Agencies hire me for my skills in Songwriting and skills in Rock/Folk/Country and Bluegrass and my musician/vocalist background but also for really weird demands. For instance, when they want a mix of different styles of music and have no idea how to translate that in sound and sonic colours. Using Pro Tools as a DAW made me a regular reader of the Pro Tools Expert. I’m always learning something new and improving my work thanks to the big community there… So Thanks a lot for that guys!
Simon James Foot
I recently revamped my home studio, replacing pretty much everything. This time round, I have gone for a very minimalist approach that focuses on "In The Box" production. Much of the music I tend to create is electronic/ambient utilising software instruments and effects along with electro-acoustic and electric guitars. However, a large part of my time is devoted to teaching youngsters the ins and outs of music production for which I have an honours degree from the University of Essex. Invariably, I’ll be working on a Pop song one day and a classical piece the next which is great. I work with both Mac and PC, mainly in Presonus Studio One Pro which has become my DAW of choice but also with Logic, Ableton and Pro Tools depending on the preferences of my students.
Brian Caesar
Slow Motion Picture (aka Brian Caesar) is a cinematic/alternative project from New York. Working with singer and pianist Lauren Edman (Sleepthief) Caesar released his debut album In Memory Of. The album was well received by critics and led to the song "Opening" getting a prominent spot on the Ear to Ear Records / Gerpfast Kolektif compilation REVOLUTION-The Shoegaze Revival. Currently, Caesar is working on a follow up EP due out in 2017.
