6dB/Oct Filters
High-pass and to a lesser extent low-pass filters are essential tools and using a pair of filters it is possible to keep unwanted audio out of the signal path. Whether used as a safety net or as a corrective tool they are something we use on every mix.
Something I have criticised the Avid Channel strip plugin for is the lack of 6dB/Oct filters. I find them useful both in high and low-pass duties as it often sounds better filtering from higher/lower respectively for high and low pass respectively with a gentler slope and as such the 6dB/Oct filter is perfect.
Users with a control surface will appreciate the ability to change both filters at once, with that in mind the graphical joystick allows simultaneous use of both filters to those of us using a mouse.
