Just over a week after Mike Thornton's preview article, Audio Ease have released the first versions of their 360pan Suite, including 360pan and 360monitor.
These are essential tools if you wish to create 360 degree immersive VR content for YouTube.
360pan Suite
When producing immersive VR content for YouTube you need to be able to output an ambisonics stream for upload. As everyone should do, before you upload to YouTube, you need to be able to check back your encode, the way your end audience will hear it. Audio Ease have developed two 360pan Suite plugins to achieve this.
360pan
This is a YouTube 360 ambisonics panner, which you can control directly from the Pro Tools video window.
360monitor
This is a YouTube ambisonics to headphones plugin, so you can check that the Ambisonics audio decodes out to binaural and works as expected as you look around in the VR space, all from within Pro Tools.
Out Now
As promised, Audio Ease has released the AAX versions for Mac, ahead of AES. Other plugin formats for use with other DAWs, and Windows support, are coming soon.
Audio Ease 360pan Suite retails for 249 Euros (+tax). We'll be doing a review of this incredible software very soon!
