A nice find by the Studio One Expert team a free Roland JX-8P Emulation Plug-in in AU and VST from developer Martin Lüders.
Writing they say:
"Released in 1985 the Roland JX8P is a 6 voice 12 oscillator synth using DCOs as the sound source. Being released in the middle of the digital synth revolution the JX8P was very sparse in design so the optional PG800 programmer was also available for those wanting to tweak. It was heard on many tracks during the period and used by such luminaries as 808 State, Tangerine Dream, The Shamen, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Go West, Jean-Michel Jarre, Europe, and Jimmy Jam.
Drawing from the PG800 programmer this emulation gives users the option to tweak to their heart's content.
PG8X is available for free download via KVR Audio (1.36 MB download size, DLL file, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU plugin format for Windows & Mac OS). "
To use it in Pro Tools you will need a AU/VST host:
