Review - Audient ASP8024 Heritage Edition Day 2 Part 2

In this video Pro Tools Expert Technical Editor James Ivey continues his exploration of the new Audient ASP8024 Heritage Editor console. In this instalment which covers the end of day 2 and the start of day 3.

James finishes tracking the song with the lead electric guitar, all important shaker and lead vocal. Bryn Wildish is as ever on hand to talk James around the console and explain some the features that make the Audient 8024 unique and perfectly suited to James' workflows.

Bryn shows James two tricks on the console to enable the performer to get a latency free mix to headphones while the engineer listens to the tape return path. Thus making sure that every stage of the recording path is a good as it can be. This is an older "tape based" workflow but it really can be a life saver as any latency can kill the vibe of a recording session.

Bryn also shows James a way to route two different reverb levels (one for the team in the control room and one for the talent) from a single reverb unit using a clever feature of the ASP8024s aux path.
