Review - Audient ASP8024 Heritage Edition Day 2 Part 1

In this video Pro Tools Expert Technical Editor James Ivey continues his tests of the Audient ASP8024HE recording and mixing console.  We join James and Audient's Bryn Wildish in day 2 of this project, the tracking session.

Firstly Bryn demonstrates the routing that they are using for the tracking session. How the incoming signal is routed from the built in mic preamps to the Aux send that is being used as a mono headphone send.

Next the signal goes on to the Short Fader which sets the output level to "tape" in this case our Pro Tools session with the Antelope Orion interface.

Then the signal comes back from the Orion into the Tape Returns on the console and back to the Long Fader.

Watch and hear James recording Drums, Bass and Acoustic Guitar for the song.

The aim of this video is to allow you to hear how the 8024 HE sounds, all be it via online compression but we think you will love what you hear.  James and Bryn talk about possibilities of routing the desk's EQ to the "to tape" or just to the monitor path.
