Synchro Arts Revoice Pro - 5 Reasons We Love It

With the arrival of RePitch, many users wonder if Revoice Pro is still viable and necessary in light of all that RePitch does. The short answer is yes. There are still plenty of reasons to use Revoice pro. Here are five of them.

Process Groups

The Process Groups feature is a huge time-saver when you're working on multiple vocal layers and want to tweak how much alignment is applied to the whole stack. Creating a new process group when executing an Audio Performance Transfer (APT) function makes it easy to revisit any process settings used at any time.  You could, for example, easily experiment with variable timing tightness settings or pitch alignment strength and have the changes immediately auditioned in all tracks included in the process group. It is also easy to toggle back and forth between your original dub tracks and corrected dub tracks for an honest and easy evaluation of your changes.

Speed

Another benefit of Revoice Pro is speed. Revoice Pro 4 can complete multiple processes faster than other plugins as a standalone application. This is particularly important when working with large vocal arrangements. Changes are calculated in near real-time, making it easier to experiment.

Authentic Doubling

Revoice Pro's Doubler algorithm can instantly create new natural and authentic-sounding double tracks – a lifesaver if a double vocal track wasn’t recorded in the studio! Even if you don't think you need or want a doubled vocal sound, blending a double in underneath a lead can fatten and thicken things in subtle ways not possible with traditional EQ and compression processing. If you are unsure you want a doubled vocal track, try creating a double and processing it with some effects not used on the lead. Or, send the double to the reverb only and leave the lead dry for a subtle unique and interesting chorused sound.

Vibrato Warp

Vibrato Warp Points are another powerful and unique feature in Revoice Pro. The idea of using warp editing to stretch or compress bits of vocals is nothing new or groundbreaking. But Synchro Arts’ warp vibrato technology allows you to stretch or compress sustained notes without affecting the speed of the vibrato. Exactly these types of nuances make this type of vocal editing natural sounding.

Performance Dynamics

In addition to timing and pitch, you can also use a guide track as a reference to transfer level information to other tracks. This is like having a vocal rider function built right into your vocal editing workflow, where the dynamics of one track are easily transferred to doubles or harmonies. This is particularly useful in dynamic vocal arrangments. Ebbs and flows in the phrasing and expression are easily transferred across as many vocal tracks as necessary to give the vocal arrangement a smooth and homogeneous blend. What a compressor does to "glue" multiple tracks together sonically, this does to "glue" the performance together.

So, there is still a lot to love about Revoice Pro.
