Should you tell a singer they can't sing? It’s a serious question for those working with artists in studios.

You may have come across the movie ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’ a brilliant movie starring Meryl Streep. The movie is based on the true story of wealthy American socialite Florence Foster Jenkins, who believed she could sing, the only problem was that she couldn’t.

An even bigger problem was that no-one told her and she spent huge amounts of money promoting herself. She even played at Carnegie Hall, an event that ended in tears. A somewhat heartbreaking story.

Which begs the question, are there times when you need to be cruel to be kind, or do you just shut up and take the money?
