Serato Unexpectedly Announce Native Apple Silicon Support For Pitch 'n Time Plugin

In a surprise announcement from Serato, after appearing to have abandoned support for Pitch ‘n Time, they have announced support for the latest Apple software and hardware. We have the details.

For audio post-production specialists, Pitch ‘n Time Pro has been a key tool in post-production workflows. Even as far back as 2013, there have been concerns about the ongoing future of Pitch ‘n Time. In our article from May 2013, Concerns Over The Future Of Serato's Pitch n' Time Pro Plug-in, we wrote…

“Serato have made no secret since the release of Pro Tools 10 that their Pitch n’Time Pro plug-in was not compatible with Pro Tools 10. With the imminent release of Pro Tools 11 and the need for AAX 64-bit plug-ins to work with PT11, some of the community have been in touch concerned about the future of Pitch n’ Time Pro from Serato.”

Then, later in 2013, Serato announced support for Pro Tools 11. In our article Pitch 'N Time Is Back - Serato Release v3 For Pro Tools 11, we reported…

“Finally Serato has released Pitch ‘n Time Pro for current versions of Pro Tools. With support added for Avid Pro Tools 10/11 users as well as Apple Logic X (64-bit), an updated user interface and some minor feature additions.”

Over the years, support for various macOS operating systems have continued to be announced up to macOS Big Sur. However, Apple Silicon support was only available through Rosetta 2 in early 2021.

Then nothing, all the macOS support announcements from Serato related to their DJ products like DP Pro and DJ Lite, until now.

In a flurry of announcements, Serato has announced support for…

  • Native Apple Silicon - “Pitch 'n Time Pro & LE 3.1.0 are now supported natively when used with macOS computers with Apple Silicon, using the latest versions of Pro Tools & Logic Pro X.”

  • macOS Monterey - “Pitch 'n Time Pro & LE 3.1.0 are now supported on computers with macOS 12 Monterey, using the latest versions of Pro Tools 2023 & Logic Pro X.”

  • macOS Ventura - “Pitch 'n Time Pro & LE 3.1.0 are now supported on computers with macOS 13 Ventura, using the latest versions of Pro Tools 2023 & Logic Pro X”

  • macOS Sonoma - “Pitch 'n Time Pro & LE 3.1.0 are now supported when used with macOS 14 Sonoma. However, despite this, not all supported host DAWs currently support macOS 14 Sonoma, namely Avid Pro Tools 2023.”

This is great news for all Serato Pitch n’ Time users, so if you have a copy, it’s time to download v3.1 and remind yourself what it can do. If you haven’t tried it, download the demo and give it a spin.
