PROCESS.AUDIO Releases Decibel Update - New Stereo Cloud Meter

PROCESS.AUDIO, the software division of PureMix.net, today released Decibel 1.1.0, a significant update of the most comprehensive, flexible, and powerful audio metering plugin. The highlight is the new Stereo Cloud module, but many additional enhancements and stability improvements are also included.

The Stereo Cloud module gives you a real-time view of your audio’s frequency content and stereo placement. Its design lets you picture what you’re hearing in a visually pleasing way. Its X-axis represents the stereo field and its Y-axis frequency. It uses different colours and gradients to show the intensity of your signal, which helps you locate any frequency build-ups.

If you want to home in on a specific location in Stereo Cloud, mouse over the display and use the built-in movable crosshairs. At the convergence of the crosshair axes, you get a text readout of the frequency, the distance from the centre, the note number, and its distance from the tonal centre.

When mixing, Stereo Cloud gives you an accurate real-time reference of frequency and panning for individual elements or busses. For mastering, use it as a reference for controlling the width of specific parts.

More Dynamic Representation of Audio Levels

PROCESS.AUDIO also implemented gradients in many of Decibel’s other modules, providing a more dynamic representation of audio levels across the plugin. If you prefer the original look, you can turn the gradient mode on or off in the Skin Panel.

Decibel 1.1.0 divides what was previously the Skin Panel’s “Digital” category into two categories: “RMS” and “Frequency.” Decibel will automatically update your saved presets accordingly.

The release also brings with it improvements to the LUFS meter, Histogram, Spectrum Analyzer and many others. The update is free for existing Decibel owners.
