PreSonus Eris Essential, Studio and Pro Monitors Announced

PreSonus has today introduced its latest line of Eris Studio Monitors, available in three distinct tiers: Essential, Studio, and Pro.

This tiered approach ensures accessibility for a wide range of users, from budding songwriters to dedicated audiophiles and professional audio engineers working in various studio environments. While not considered tactile instruments, reference monitors play a critical role in any studio setup and signal chain. With this in mind, the Eris® Studio Monitors have been meticulously designed to offer a high-quality monitoring solution for recording, production, and mixing purposes across all skill levels.

Adrian Haselhuber, VP of Product Management at PreSonus Hardware, remarked,

"We are fortunate to have a diverse user base with varying perspectives on sound design, spanning from novices to industry leaders in engineering. Rather than seeing this diversity as a challenge, we view it as a unique privilege. With the new Eris® Studio Monitors, we are taking our deep expertise in speaker design to the next level. Our aim is to demonstrate our commitment to providing creative tools that are equally effective in the bedroom of a novice songwriter as they are in a state-of-the-art recording studio."

The Essential, or Eris Series (priced between $99.99 and $249.99 USD), serves as an entry-level option ideal for casual creators. Despite their compact size and streamlined functionality, these monitors provide an avenue for casual listeners to enhance their audio experience and for recording musicians to establish a quality project studio.

The entry-level models in the Eris® family offer durable, versatile, Bluetooth functionality, on-board tuning, headphone outputs, and, most importantly, unbiased, crystal-clear sound. Users can further enhance their experience by adding a subwoofer to full-range speakers, enabling more accurate monitoring of the low-frequency spectrum and facilitating better decision-making during mixing.

The Eris Sub 8BT, specially designed to complement Eris and Eris Studio-series speakers, extends down to 30 Hz, providing a full sonic spectrum for improved music production. The PreSonus Eris models in this series include: Eris 3.5, Eris 3.5 BT, Eris 4.5 BT, Eris 5 BT, and Eris Sub 8 BT.

The Eris Studio Series (priced between $149.99 and $249.99 USD) caters to dedicated DIY producers and musicians seeking to elevate their home-monitoring setup. This series offers a range of models, from the compact Studio 4 to the more powerful Studio 8, to accommodate various working spaces and volume requirements.

The Studio series features a custom-tuned EBM waveguide, exceptional high-frequency reproduction, and robust low-end response to ensure precise monitoring of every aspect of the mix. The PreSonus Eris Studio models in this series include: Eris Studio 4, Eris Studio 5, and Eris Studio 8.

The Eris Pro Series (priced between $399.99 and $499.99 USD), set to be available at the end of September 2023, represents premium monitors designed to excel in studio functionality. These powerful monitors, compatible with Atmos, feature a coaxial design for clear and accurate sound reproduction from a single point source.

They also offer provisions for wall and ceiling mounts, simplifying stereo or surround system integration. This tier includes a premium Eris® Pro subwoofer tailored to complement any of the Eris Pro or Studio speakers. The PreSonus Eris Pro models in this series include: Eris Pro 6, Eris Pro 8, and Eris Pro Sub 10.

To demonstrate the versatility and capabilities of the enhanced Eris Studio Monitors, PreSonus will launch a new social content series later this month called "The Sweet Spot." This series will provide insights into the creative process of producers through in-depth interviews, discussions of past projects, mixing strategies, and more. Featured talents include 6ix, a platinum and Grammy-nominated producer, and Warren Huart, a rock producer known for collaborations with The Fray, Korn, and Aerosmith.
