In October 2020, Leapwing Audio provided some licences of their excellent plugins, which we offered in a giveaway as a trio of prizes. the lucky winners have been selected, here are the details of who they are and what they do.

I’m 26 years old sound editor and sound designer based in Rome and I‘m in the cinema industry since 2017 (imdb)

I was born in Rome in 1994. I studied music and classic guitar for 8 years since I was 11. I graduated from CineTv Roberto Rossellini School as an audio technician in 2015. Then I ended the sound post-production course at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Rome) back in 2017 and the day after I started to work in a post-production facility. From 2019 as a freelancer.

I’m really interested in Leapwing RootOne as I cannot find a smart and easy sub-harmonic generator that sounds good and sticks well to the source and I think that this one could fit my needs.

I’m a Venezuelan sound engineer living in Miami, Florida. I have been in the audio industry for about two decades, working as a music producer, sound designer, foley artist, sound editor, and mixing engineer for film projects and TV and radio advertising spots.

Since I moved to Miami, I’ve been working as a freelance audio engineer in a few studios here in town, but since a few months ago, as we all know, we are working remotely from our home studios most of the time. I’m thrilled to have these unique tools available, I just tried them out a month ago, and I was very impressed!  I was able to improve my mixes, using only a few Leapwing plugins. The best part: I could go to extremes without hearing any artifacts or phase issues. I’m pretty sure this will be one of the most valuable additions to my toolbox, allowing me to achieve excellent results even from my home studio!

3rd Prize - RootOne - Winner, Phillipe Roiron

I am a French musician, composer and sound engineer/designer with a master degree in sound engineering from ENSATT, which is the French national theatre art school. For the past ten years, I have worked as the recording studio manager, composer assistant and sound engineer for Grame Lyon’s version of Paris’ IRCAM.

In April 2020, I launched my own composing/mixing/mastering/sound tinkering studio: Voltige Sonore. This studio’s main goal is to help other artists, directors, producers, reach the sound they dream of.

To achieve that goal, I have a lot of plugins (Plugin-Alliance, Isotope, Native Instruments, Flux, UVI…) and some analogue hardware as well (Publison, Lexicon, Eventide, Dangerous Music, RME, Studer, JBL, Bryston…).

As most of my favourite music style and songs, I write and feed on low/infra bass, I really need a software that can work on subharmonics. And here comes Rootone! At last, a plugin to work on low-end sounds as if it was some jewellery! I can’t wait to unleash its power on my synths and bass lines.
