iZotope has released Ozone 11 with a new Clarity Module and a new Stem Focus feature which promises to salvage problematic mixes by working its magic on isolated stems within them. We have the details…

Available to buy on its own, or as part of the new Music Production Suite 6 bundle (more on that below), iZotope’s latest edition of their renowned mastering suite arrives just a year after version 10 which Ronan Macdonald checked out for Production Expert here.

Ozone 11’s new features include the Clarity module which adaptively maximises the spectral power of your tracks. In other words, it does the science for you, so your music sounds “professional, polished, and louder without penalties”.

Then there’s the new Stem Focus which harnesses the power of AI to rescue problematic mixes by applying Ozone settings to isolated stems within your mix.

The Maximiser window has a refreshed look and additional features, most notably the upward compress feature which iZotope claims to boost quiet sections while preserving fast transients replacing complex parallel routing, gain-staging, and level-matching with one intuitive slider.

Ozone’s Master Assistant has been developed further with the new Assistive Vocal Balance tool to help achieve clear, perfectly-balanced vocals. iZotope say “Through analyzing hundreds of top songs, our Master Assistant learned how to sit the vocals in the mix, and with our new AI Vocal Checker, you never have to worry about levels again.”

Ozone 11 Advanced is available to buy for $299.25 (normally $399), Ozone 11 Standard is currently $149 (normally $199) and Elements is $39 (normally $49).

Nectar 4

iZotope has also released Nectar 4, which integrates an array of plugins aiming to simplify the process of achieving professional-quality vocals. Among its features, an Auto-Level module serves as a transparent alternative to compression. Additionally, the Vocal Assistant page streamlines access to the suite's settings, aiding users in finding their desired sound without delving too deep into intricate details. For those seeking vocal layering assistance, the Voices module is at their disposal, while an AI-powered Backer module enables the creation of virtual background singers.

Nectar 4 Advanced is available for $224 (normally $299) until 11th October 2023.

Music Production Suite 6

Ozone 11 Advanced and Nectar 4 Advanced are also part of the new Music Production Suite 6 software bundle. Historically Music Production Suites 1-5 were bundles released by iZotope, however, now that the Boston-based brand, along with Brainworx and Plugin Alliance are part of Native Instruments, Music Production Suite 6 encompasses over 30 products from across the roster of said developers, with NI as the brand ‘on the box’. It’s available now with an introductory price of $449 (normally $599).
