Genelec Announce GLM v5 Update

Genelec have announced a new free update, version 5, is now available for their GLM Loudspeaker Manager software. Updating is highly recommended for anyone using GLM 2, 3 or 4.

GLM 5 includes a range of important improvements, bug fixes and firmware updates, which you can find out more about by watching this helpful tutorial video presented by Genelec expert Marcel Schechter:

What’s New In V5

  • GLM 5 now supports the 9320A SAM reference controller.

  • Calibration of the flagship 5 phase studio monitor 8381 is offered.

  • Configuration of the 9401 AS67 to ASEBU bridge interface, including bass management setup.

  • Compatibility with the latest macOS 14, delivered as a universal binary including native Apple Silicon and Intel versions.

  • Improved user interface with setup file naming and cloud service integration.

  • Introduction of GRADE reports for detailed room acoustics and system performance analysis.

  • System-wide Mute and Dim functions that retain settings across groups.

  • Enhanced SAM system power management with new options and MIDI control capability.

  • ISS function now operable even with GLM running, with customizable delay and sensitivity settings.

  • Shutdown group off monitors feature for larger setups, conserving energy on inactive monitors.

  • Option to enable/disable wireless remote control in the setup menu.

  • Ability to define system startup level and maximum volume restriction for stand-alone use.

  • New MIDI functions for system power control, solo/mute device, and volume control.

  • Simplified calibration process with automatic display of woofer CAL controls and Woofer Cal initiation.

  • Individual gain adjustment for LFE channel on multiple subwoofers.
