Find Of The Week - Mic Bar Extensions

There are times when you need to attach a mic to a stand and it feels like wrestling a greased octopus. We have a way to make things easier and for not a lot of money.

Trying to attach microphones like a Shure SM7 to a mic desk stand can prove hard. It’s also a problem trying to attach some larger ribbon and dynamic microphones to stands. Getting the cable attached and having room to move things around is sometimes difficult.

Shure make the A26X extension, but a single one costs around £13.00 ($15.00), some applications require two extensions.

There are some cheap versions, but some of them have problems with threads.

We’re tracked down a great option, the Mic Stand Extension, 5/8" Female to 5/8" Male Microphone Extension Tube for Desk Stands by YOUSHARES(3.15 in). There are two in a pack for only £9.45 ($12.00)

We’ve tried them and they work great. See the picture above.

The manufacturers say; “This extension is perfect for microphone Shure SM7B, Shure MV7, and Rode Podmic, it also solves connection problems with Rode PSA1 and Blue Compass.”

As we’ve already said, there are other versions, but these work.

We do not receive any payment for this recommendation.
