DADman Software Now Supports Monterey macOS 12

Feature Summary

The main new features of DADman 5.6.3 are…

  • Support for macOS Monterey (12) and Big Sur (11). Also supports Catalina (10.15), Mojave (10.14), High Sierra (10.13), and Sierra (10.12).

  • Support for Apple Silicon M1 and Intel processors.

  • Support for the DAD Thunder|Core Thunderbolt 3 enabled interfaces/modules.

  • If no units are connected from within DADman, the Device List will automatically open when DADman launches.

  • In the monitor profile configuration, the order of sources and outputs can now be rearranged once configured.

  • Import Profile function added to the File menu. This function enables the import of a monitor profile from any MTRX, MTRX Studio, or DAD unit.

DADman v5.6.3 Supported Units

The DADman software is compatible with DAD Core 256, DAD AX64, DAD AX32, DAD DX32, DAD AX24, MOM, NTP Penta 720, NTP Penta 721s series, NTP Penta 721, Avid MTRX and MTRX Studio.

DADman System Requirements and Compatibility

DADman v5.6.3 runs on Mac computers with the M1 processor using the new Apple Silicon architecture. DADman will run natively on these computers but will also run on Mac Intel-based computers. DADman supports macOS 11 and macOS 12 (Monterey) on both hardware platforms.

DADman v5.6.3 Feature Enhancements and Bug Fixes

Feature enhancements:

  • Support for macOS Big Sur and Monterey Intel/M1.

  • Monitor Profile Sources, Outputs and Fold-downs can now be re-ordered by clicking and dragging to the desired location.

  • If no units are connected in DADman, the Device List window will automatically open at DADman launch.

  • The “Import Profile” function has been added to the File menu. This function enables the import of a monitor profile from any MTRX /MTRX Studio /DAD unit and makes the best fit for the monitoring configuration, and signal flow allocation etc.

  • “Copy and Paste” are now available for label texts and gain values in the channel strips and for label texts in the matrix view.


Bug Fixes:

  • Changes have been made in the Firmware (MTRX and MTRX Studio) in order to improve the self-assigning of IP addresses in the unit when no external DHCP server is available.

  • Issues with showing labels in dark mode are now fixed.

  • When using a self-assigned IP, an issue was fixed where there may be no meter activity in DADman upon the first lauch.
