Apple, today announced a raft of new products including the new Mac Pro, MacBook Air 15” computer, and a new Mac Studio along with a new M2 Ultra chip.

Mac Pro

Perhaps the most anticipated Mac for audio professionals, Apple has announced an update to their flagship Mac, the Mac Pro. It is powered by the new M2 Ultra chip and offers an updated Afterburner card with blistering speeds for video work. Apple says the new Mac Pro is three times faster than the faster Intel Mac Pro.

Upgradable SSD

In response to the introduction of the Apple silicon Mac Pro, Apple has now made available SSD upgrade kits on its online store. These kits offer storage options of 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB, priced at $1,000, $1,600, and $2,800 respectively.

The upgrade kits come equipped with either two 1TB SSDs, two 2TB SSDs, or two 4TB SSDs, and are designed to replace the existing internal SSD storage in the Mac Pro.

It's important to note that these hardware upgrades are specifically compatible with the new 2023 Mac Pro models featuring Apple's M2 Ultra chips.
