Acon Digital have just introduced version 1.5 of their noise reduction plug-in, Extract:Dialogue. Following on from the very favourable results Acon Digital’s products achieved in our recent blind listening tests, we decided to put the updated version of Extract:Dialogue to the test with some noisy dialogue recordings.

As you will hear in the demonstrations shown in the video, the audio quality which Extract:Dialogue can achieve has been significantly improved, which is quite impressive considering that it already stack up very well against competing noise reduction products.

In version 1.5, Acon Digital have developed the A.I model for better performance. It now has even lower CPU usage while working about 30% faster then before. I ran Extract: Dialogue as an AAX plug-in in Pro Tools. As before, there are Audiosuite, AU, VST and VST3 versions included too.

In use, I found Extract:Dialogue version 1.5 to give remarkable results, notably improving on the previous version and achieving a greater amount of effecting noise reduction whilst leaving the dialogue intact. The improvements Acon Digital have made are evident in the quality and naturalness of the processed voice, and the new A.I model can correct for phase distortions and destructive interference.
