Hit'n'Mix Infinity 4.7 - Atomic Remix And Repair Audio Editor

Hit’n’Mix’s audio software first appeared almost a decade ago. From its inception, it has grown both in terms of features and in sound quality.

Rebranded Hit’n’Mix Infinity and now at version 4.7 - Infinity is billed as the world’s first atomic audio editor and is available as a standalone application (OS X 10.10 or later, Windows 7 or later), AudioSuite plug-in for quick and easy Pro-Tools integration, and as an external sample editor for other DAWs such as Studio One 5, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live and FL Studio.

The software analyses audio (WAV, mp3, Flac, Ogg) and presents it as melodic and unpitched components. These components can be edited in a multitude of ways to achieve a variety of applications, whether it is a functional or creative audio task.

The evolution of Infinity 4.7 has firmly aimed the application at a much broader audience – that includes music producers, remixers, sound designers, audio engineers and post-production professionals.

What’s New In Hit’n’Mix Infinity 4.7

With the release of 4.7, Infinity is packed with new features and improvements that include a revamped UI and renamed Sound Palette, now included as a permanent toolbar alongside Audioshop and plethora of creative tools that are easy to access - such as Note Editor, Chord Creator and enhanced RipScripts.

These upgrades boost the massive time and effort savings already provided by Hit’n’Mix Infinity, making it a powerful ‘one-stop-shop’ for automatic, manual and creative time, pitch & loudness editing for the clean-up of vocals, instruments, dialogue and sound effects.

  • A revamped UI - containing a new and improved Sound Palette, Audioshop with enhanced Draw Sound and un-pitched sound editing tools, Note Editor, Chord Creator and more - all easily accessible from an integrated toolbar.

  • More intuitive editing capabilities - enabling users to fix rips or create new ones from a combination of audio clips at speed.

  • New Layers Panel - offering every type of audio professional the flexibility to layer and mix any sound or instrument.

  • Powerful editing, ripping, playback, workflow and audio processing advancements.

How Hit’n’Mix Infinity Works

Infinity uses a layers-based workflow to analyse audio and then presents it to the user in what they call a 'Rip'. Rips include a multitude of melodic and unpitched layers, allowing you to work with individual notes, harmonics and un-pitched sounds - without the need to edit the waveforms and frequency spectrums.

Infinity allows you to reach inside a stereo mix and cherry-pick individual parts for editing, which all of us know is a laborious process when approaching this task.

Final Thoughts

Giving users the ability to take polyphonic recordings of individual tracks like pianos and guitars and edit as if they were MIDI and extracting these individual parts to create new stems for remixing or other creative uses, is a real innovation in this space.

The only caveat is that Hit’n’Mix Infinity truly needs to be understood to get the best results. You’ll need to be patient, as the learning curve is no picnic. But, the time is well worth the effort.
