In this free video tutorial, we use Fabfilter’s Saturn 2 to add some vibe to a track. Adding weight to the drum bus, thick doomy distortion to guitars and cohesion to the 2 bus.

Saturn 2 includes 12 new distortion styles, a radically overhauled and expanded modulation system, enhanced envelopes, linear phase processing, and a new ‘Superb’ High-Quality mode. The new distortion styles, nearly twice as many, included ‘Subtle’ versions of the Tape, Tube, and Saturation styles for warmth and four new guitar amplifiers, three Transformer styles. All of this means that you use Saturn 2 for everything from sweetening a mix bus through to guitar amp simulation.

Take just a little time to get to know Saturn 2 and you’ll find that creating complex, multiband treatments with macros controlling multiple parameters is genuinely useful when finding the sweet spot when adding colour to your productions.
