UJAM Virtual Bassists 2.1 - Amazing Studio One Chord Track Integration

UJAM’s respected Virtual bassist collection of three contrasting players: ROYAL, ROWDY and MELLOW have been updated with a raft of new features. The one of most interest to Studio One users will be integration with the Studio One Chord track.

The 3 bassists included in the collection, or available separately all feature the same user interface making operation familiar between them. The original instruments received a major update in version 2 which among many new features introduced MIDI drag and drop and Finisher multi effects.

The 2.1 update includes intergration with the PreSonus Chord and Key Track

Studio One users running on version 4.6.2 or later can access an exclusive PreSonus chord and key track feature. Descriptions of styles and phrases are displayed on the piano roll to help you find the right styles and phrases faster and easier for your track. The Chord Track feature in Studio One automatically follows the chords and automatically changes the MIDI notes for you.

As well as this the 2.1 update also brings resizeable user interface, really handy for laptop users, Integration with the Key Ruler as well as the aforementioned Chord Ruler in Studio One and built in DAW sync to quantize them to the current grid setting.

If you’re not a Studio One user or you are yet to investigate the Chord Track watch our tutorial video explaining what the Chord Track is and what it can achieve. If you’re familiar with the Chord Track in Pro Tools then prepare to be blown away, the Studio One Chord track is far, far more powerful! Integration between the Chord Track and your Virtual Bassist makes the UJAM Virtual Bassists extra special for Studio One users.

What Is It Like In Use?

We tried it and were amazed at how quickly the “old’ way of controlling chord changes using MIDI in the track seemed unwieldy. Just dial in your changes in the chord track and it follows your changes, the workflow is fully integrated and we really hope the Virtual Guitarists like AMBER and IRON follow suit soon.
