If you had 4 Dante AVIO adapters: analogue, digital or USB, how would you use them to simplify or improve your studio? Audinate want to hear your suggestions and if they like your suggestion best they will give you 4 adapters of your choice and a copy of Dante Virtual Soundcard.

In live sound and large facilities Dante has been the breakthrough audio technology of the last ten years. The advantages are easy to see. Inexpensive cabling, use of existing network infrastructure, easy setup, high channel counts, uncompressed audio, low latency and a very large ecosystem of compatible hardware. We could go on. If you are moving audio around a large site, have lots of users or need to distribute audio in complex or changing ways then Dante offers advantages which are difficult to resist.

Many of these advantages don’t really apply to the small to medium sized studios in which the majority of music is recorded and mixed. However that isn’t to say that Dante doesn’t offer distinct advantages over traditional analogue cabling, just look at James’ article about his upgraded headphone monitoring system to see how even the smallest studio can benefit from the simplicity and flexibility of a Dante-based system.
