Flock Audio Patch LT And XT Added To Their Range Of Digital Patchbays
We first came across Patch from Flock Audio 2 years ago when James Ivey spotted it at NAMM 2018. Fast forward to May 2019 and James had taken delivery of a Patch unit from Flock Audio and whilst installing it gave his studio a spring clean. Having prepared his studio, James set about installing and configuring his Flock Audio Patch.
At NAMM 2020, Flock Audio is announcing the addition of two more products in the PATCH range, PATCH LT and PATCH XT. LT representing ‘light’ (condensed) and XT - ‘extra’ (expanded) products, offering reduced and increased I/O count, but based on the same architecture as the original unit.
What Is PATCH?
For those who missed James’ articles, the Flock Audio PATCH is a 64 point, 32 channel fully analogue with digital control and storage patch bay and routing system. Connections are via eight standard 25-pin D-SUB connectors allowing analogue routing control courtesy of a macOS and Windows compatible PATCH APP routing software. Imagine at the single click of a mouse being able to route 32 different pieces of single-channel audio hardware. Click on another of your presets and that routing has been totally reconfigured. Move from tracking to mixing workflows with one button push. The PATCH really does give you easy access to all your studio hardware. It’s fast, it’s very tidy and it’s smart. What’s not to love?
PATCH LT
This new ‘light’ version offers a 32- point (16-input/16-output) matrix with four standard 25-pin D-SUB connectors, 16 independent channels of 48V phantom power, and one front panel-positioned TRS/XLR Combo input and one XLR output.
PATCH XT
This is the new extended version of the original unit and offers 192-point (96-input/96-output) connections via 24 standard 25-pin D-SUB connectors with 96 independent channels of 48V phantom power all in a 3U case.
