Reverb Tutorial - Is EQing The Tone Of A Reverb As Important As Picking The Reverb Sound Itself?

We continue our free video tutorial series, brought to you with the support of LiquidSonics, in which we are sharing bite sized reverbs mixing tips for you to try in your next mix. In this video we ask an important question, is EQing the tone of a reverb as important as picking the reverb sound Itself?

Dan believes it is but why? Reverb types such as halls and plates or even well described reverb presets already have their own timbres. When we scroll through reverb presets we typically listen for their space and decay qualities to judge if they sit well in this mix, but you may be missing a trick if you pick a general reverb sound on face value.

When you pick a tasty sounding reverb from a preset menu, do you ever consider if the timbre of that reverb sounds faithful to the mix you are working hard at sculpting?
