in the watchOS 6 Apple have announced the Noise App for the Apple Watch. The Watch will now tell you if local noise is to loud.

Having a little dB meter, you can tap into the noise app to see current levels or just wait for it to give you a notification. It has noise dose monitoring but Apple were at pains to make it clear that privacy is very important and will not record any audio.
