Real Plate Reverb Compared With A UAD Plate Reverb Plug-in - Free Video Extract From Puremix

In this free extract from PureMix Fab Dupont does a side by side comparison of a real EMT plate reverb and a UAD plug-in of the same device.

Real Plate Vs Plug-in Plate

A real plate reverb is a very large, very heavy electromechanical device which is sensitive to external vibration and has to be set up carefully to sound as good as it can. A real plate does sound undeniably attractive but exactly how different does it sound compared to a good plug-in emulation like the UAD EMT 140.

In this video extract Fab illustrates the characteristic sound of a plate and does an A/B comparison between the real and the plug-in reverbs. Have a listen and decide for yourself.
