Apple Will Release NEW Mac Pro, Pro 16" MacBook Pro And Pro 6K Monitor During 2019 Accordingly To Latest Rumours

According to well respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo there are to be a raft of Pro related Apple products due to be released during 2019. Watch out for an ‘all-new’ 16-inch MacBook Pro, the much heralded new modular Mac Pro and a companion 31.6” 6K screen.

Apple news sites The Verge and Mac Rumors are reporting the latest predictions from Ming-Chi Kuo, who is an analyst at TF International Securities and gathers intelligence from his contacts in Apple's Asian supply chain, translating the information he gleans into research notes for clients. These are considered by many to be a solid look at Apple's future plans and while they accept that he is not always correct, his predictions on future Apple products are accurate enough to make him one of the most reliable sources for Apple rumours.

All New 16” MacBook Pro

Not content with the 6 core MacBook Pro released in 2018 with the option of i9 processors and 32G of RAM, with the ensuing overheating scare that Apple were able to resolve with a firmware update, Ming-Chi Kuo has produced a report saying that Apple are planning a 16" MacBook Pro. Unfortunately we understand that his report or ‘research note’ as he often describes them provides little more info beyond that it is an "all-new" design, which is being considered as Apple planning to overhaul their current MacBook Pro design.

If these rumours prove correct then this 16.5" screen would be the largest laptop based screen Apple has produced since they discontinued the 17" MacBook Pro back in 2012.

Ming-Chi Kuo has also said that according to his sources Apple may add a 32GB RAM option to the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which currently isn’t an option.

New Mac Pro To Be Released in 2019

Ming-Chi Kuo is being reported to have said that he believes that the long-awaited new Mac Pro will be coming this year with “easy to upgrade components,” though Apple itself has already said as much. Tom Boger, senior director of Mac Hardware Product Marketing explained...

“We want to be transparent and communicate openly with our pro community, so we want them to know that the Mac Pro is a 2019 product. It’s not something for this year.

We know that there’s a lot of customers today that are making purchase decisions on the iMac Pro and whether or not they should wait for the Mac Pro.”

31.6” 6K Monitor To Go With The Mac Pro 7,1

Ming-Chi Kuo has also reported that Apple are planning to release a 31.6-inch 6K display with a Mini LED-like backlight design during 2019, in one of his ‘research notes’.

This is especially interesting as Apple only left the display market back in 2016 when they discontinued their outdated Thunderbolt Display. However on the other hand it shouldn’t be too surprising as we reported back in April 2017 Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller said this…

“With regards to the Mac Pro, we are in the process of what we call "completely rethinking the Mac Pro." As part of doing a new Mac Pro — it is, by definition, a modular system — we will be doing a pro display as well. Now you won’t see any of those products this year; we’re in the process of that. We think it’s really important to create something great for our pro customers who want a Mac Pro modular system, and that’ll take longer than this year to do.”

Apparently Ming-Chi Kuo describes the new monitor as a "6k3k" display in his research note.

In 2017, Apple SVP Phil Schiller said of their professional customers, “We want them to know we are going to work on a display… Since the Mac Pro is a modular system, we are also going to do a Pro display.”

Based on leaks of the Apple desktop monitor back in November 2018. This monitor appears to be around 27 inches and similar to the iMac design, but with even thinner bezels and a design suitable for both the Mac mini and Mac Pro.
