OWC Launch New Thunderbolt 3 Pro Dock For Mac OS And Windows

The team at OWC are very pleased to announce their new Thunderbolt 3 Pro Dock for both macOS and Windows-based machines. The Thunderbolt 3 Pro Dock is designed to be the media connection hub of your pro audio or video mobile or studio workstation with all the connectivity you need to get the job done quickly and efficiently.

OWC Thunderbolt 3 Pro Dock

The TB3 Pro Dock is designed as a professional-grade docking station that OWC believe is ready to handle any situation that you may encounter in a modern media production workflow. Think of the Thunderbolt 3 Pro Dock as your on-location or studio post-production mission control hub with a combination of 10Gb Ethernet, CFast and SD card readers, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, three USB 3.1 ports, and full support for eSATA devices and drives.

The new TB3 Pro Dock has been configured in such a way that you can upload and work with 4/8K RAW video and RAW photo files immediately at speeds up to 370MB/s. This can also be done across a network via the 10Gb Ethernet. If resolution and screen real estate is important to you, there is support for a 5K display via the second Thunderbolt 3 port or up to two 4K displays via the built-in DisplayPort connection and the second Thunderbolt 3 port. Need even more, then daisy chain up to six Thunderbolt devices while still powering your laptop and managing the typical USB 3.1 devices like iPads and other tablets.

Connections

The Thunderbolt 3 Pro Docks offers you 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports, 3x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, 1x eSATA 6 Gb/s port (supports port multiplier) 1x DisplayPort port and a 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) RJ-45 port. There is also 1x CFast and 1 Secure Digital (SD) slot to allow you to ingest from your digital cameras quickly.

Simple Effective Design

The TB3 Pro Dock is designed in a similar style to the OWC TB2 and TB3 Docks however the TB3 Pro has a raised upper panel to allow better cooling and to give you the option to turn off its internal fan for temporary near-silent operation.
