Hack - Imitate New Import Song Data Feature Using Studio One 3 Applying Macros For Instant Mix Templates

When Studio One Version 4 released earlier in 2019 one highly user-requested feature called Import Song Data was introduced enabling users to easily import mix information from one Studio One Song into another.

One area in which this feature proves to be extremely helpful is in importing mixing templates into songs you are currently working on that have similar layouts to other songs you have in your archives. But, what about those still using Studio One 3 who haven’t got this feature?

Some Studio One users have yet transitioned to Version 4. How can those users get a similar import mix template workflow? Luckily there is a workaround for this by building a moderately simple macro.

In this free video tutorial, presented by Marcus Huyskens Music, you will learn how to import a mixing template into Studio One 3 Songs using a workaround. This macro approach isn’t perfect, but it will undoubtedly get the job done for getting primary bus channels, FX channels, track names, plug-ins, and complete FX chains into a new song from another. To get this hack working for yourself, you must be running the most recent build of Studio one 3.5.6
