In this free video tutorial, brought to you with the support of Plugin Alliance, Production Expert team member Julian Rodgers deonstrates using the bx_Townhouse bus compressor and the new bx_masterdesk plugins from Brainworx on the drum bus and master bus of a track in Studio One.

What Is The Townhouse Bus Compressor?

The original Townhouse bus compressor has an interesting back story. If you want to know the detail check out our news story from when it was released in July 2018. It was built as a bespoke compressor for Townhouse Studio 1 which was equipped with a Helios desk because the engineers wanted access to the bus compressor from the newly acquired SSL series B in studio 2. Built using a combination of parts from SSL and off the shelf parts, the Townhouse compressor was similar but not the same as an SSL bus compressor and these similarities and differences have been accurately captured by the Brainworx team.

What Is bx_masterdesk?

bx_masterdesk is a mastering processor anyone can use. While its always better to engage a professional mastering engineer, lots of people don't for lots of different reasons. Using bx_masterdesk you'll get good results quickly with control but without an inappropriate number of choices to make. its hard to make it sound bad and although designed for people without experience of mastering, several mastering engineers are on record saying they love this thing. to find out more watch this tutorial.
