An Interesting Way To Help You Create Perfect Guitar Tones Using Combinations Of Different Guitar Amp Simulator Plug-Ins

In this video for Production Expert, Technical Editor James Ivey demonstrates a way of cherry-picking some of your favourite elements from different guitar amp simulation software applications and combine them to create new and interesting guitar tones.

James starts with a basic DI guitar part which he recorded using the Avid Eleven Rack hardware guitar processor. He then finds a tone in the Line 6 Helix Native guitar amp and effects plug-in that he likes but has some reservation about the speaker cabinet model sound.

James shows how to disable the Helix speaker model and uses the speaker and microphone model from Avid's Eleven (Cab Only) plug-in.

This is a simple yet effective technique that allows you to use only the elements you like in a guitar amp sim and combine it with products from other brands to create your perfect recorded guitar tone.
