What's In This Video Tutorial?

Watch the video to gain a basic understanding of each of the four FabFilter plug-ins in the FabFilter Master Bundle and to see the order in which Dan puts these plug-ins in his mastering chain.

The mix used in this video is called "Platform" by Kojo Mo - mixed by Dan Cooper in 2013.

The mix has a solid low end, an overall a great depth and vibe. Mastering this song isn't too much of a challenge, all it needs is a little tweak here and there to balance the energy. Like when we master any track it's vital to make sure we make decisions based on our tastes along with subtle EQ and Dynamics choices.  

Before & After Audio Example

In the video tutorial we show the step by step workflow used to master the song "Platform". Below you can hear uninterrupted 'before' (unprocessed mix) and 'after' (mastered with FabFilter plug-ins) master examples.

The first two audio examples being Mix (unprocessed) and Master of Platform have been level matched so that you can compare the results of the FabFilter processing without any dramatic level differences.

The third audio example has been presented as a final master set at an integrated loudness of around -12 to -13 LUFS.
