Apple macOS Mojave - The Setting That Might Be Stopping You Record Audio - Fix It Fast Now

There’s a setting in Apple Mojave that might be stopping you record audio with your favourite audio application and it has nothing to do with audio drivers being up to date. The problem can affect people using Pro Tools, Studio One, Logic Pro X, or applications like iZotope RX or Final Cut.

As part of Apple’s continuous fight against malicious security issues they have now locked down access to audio hardware from applications.

It’s a quick and easy fix.

  • Go to System Preferences

  • Select Security & Privacy

  • Choose the forth tab at the top entitled Privacy

  • Scroll down to Microphone (We know don’t get us started)

  • There you will see a list of applications that want access to audio devices.

  • You need to make sure these items are ticked otherwise you won’t get any audio

Simple as that.
