Render Friend - Free For A Limited Period - Exclusive To Pro Tools Expert

This week's featured free plug-in is a great tool to help macOS users render AudioSuite plugins in Pro Tools without cluttering up your computer screens with loads of plugin windows.

Until September 5th 2020, we offered an exclusive FREE offer on the Box version of Render Friend from Jack Meadows worth £10 to the Pro Tools Expert community.

This offer has finished.

What Is Render Friend?

As an experienced freelance Dubbing Mixer and Sound Editor based in the UK, Jack Meadows was fed up having to manage a raft of plugins open in Pro Tools ready to render clips as part of his workflow when editing and mixing. Because although Pro Tools AudioSuite plugins are great, they can take up a lot of space, making it hard to actually see your work.

With Render Friend, macOS users can move those cumbersome windows out of the way, and create a simple button to control your favourite AudioSuite plugins instead.

Jack’s aim with Render Friend is that you can then enjoy your time together. “Rendering away the hours, with a neat and tidy, resizable, floating window.”

Render Friend comes in three different shapes, box, wide and tall, or you can get them all together in a bundle.

This offer is ONLY for the Box version, not any of the other options.

How To Setup Render Friend

Once you have downloaded and unzipped the app, we recommend adding it to your Applications folder.

When you run Render Friend, you will see this Render Friend Preferences window…

  1. Button Name - Give your button a name. This can be anything you like. e.g De-Click

  2. Plug-in Name - Type the name of the Plug-In exactly as it appears in the Pro Tools AudioSuite Menu. e.g. RX 7 De-Click

  3. Sub Menu - Type the name of the Sub Menu exactly as it appears in the Pro Tools AudioSuite Menu. e.g. Noise Reduction

  4. Plug-in Action - Choose an action for the Plug-In to perform. By default this is ‘Render’ but you can also tell it to Analyse, Send or Learn.

  5. Update - Don’t forget to click the Update button at the bottom when you are done!
