What is Quad Comp?

Quad Comp is a multi-band processor that incorporates up to four fully featured optical compressors, each operating on a separate, user-definable frequency band. Each compressor has a full set of controls that enables users to achieve desired results by tailoring the compression on the band it's applied to.

The flexibility of this processor is also augmented by the selectable slope of the filters, from 6 dB/Oct to 24 dB/Oct. Quad Comp is typically used on the stereo master bus of a mix to even out frequencies in selected spots of the program, but it's also very useful on single tracks where frequency content can vary drastically over time, like vocals or bass.

How Do I Get This Plug-in?

Until February 14th 2019, anyone who subscribes to the IK Multimedia newsletter mailing list can receive the T-RackS Quad Compressor for free, with no purchase necessary. Go to the IK Multimedia website and sign up for the newsletter. You’ll get a mail to the email address you provided from which you’ll have to respond. To download the Quad Comp you’ll have to set up a user account if you don’t already have one and to set up an account you’ll be asked to share some data like email address, date of birth and location. If you’re not happy to share data then this offer isn’t for you but if you don’t mind and you want a free multiband compressor then go for it.

To get the Quad Comp you’ll have to install the T-Racks Custom Shop software from the downloads section and the Quad Comp is available from within this software.

Quad Comp is a free plug-in and no iLok is required to run it.
