What Is SSD5 Free?

SSD5 is a free version of SSD5, the acclaimed drum virtual instrument from Slate. Many of us know Slate as a producer of quality drum samples and instruments and this free version offers a cut down version in terms of the choice of sounds but the quality is pure Slate. A single kit is provided but all the editing features are available such as the ability to control the mix between the close, overhead and room mics.

How Do I Get This Plug-in?

Go to the Slate website and provide you name and a valid email address. This will take you to the downloads page. Installation is more complicated than most plug-ins but two useful videos are provided to guide you through this process, one for PC installation, one for Mac.

SSD5 Free is a free plug-in and no iLok is required to run it.
