PS1-A Speaker/Amp Simulator

This stock Pro Tools plug-in has ben around a long time but it still earns its place in sessions in the company of far more upmarket plug-ins. A software emulation of the original Tech 21 hardware, this analogue amp and speaker simulator has such a useable sound that Sansamp pedals are still popular today.

In this video Julian looks at the five drive controls: Preamp, Buzz, Punch, Crunch and Drive, with particular focus on the Buzz, Punch and Crunch controls. What do they do and why are there so many drive controls?

Demonstrating the PS1-A on guitar, bass and drums Julian ends this video with a neat way to get stereo spread using the PS1-A without an third party plug-ins on complicated routing.
