Pole Position Release Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX 1943 Sound Effects Library

The Spitfire sound collection includes 280 clips in 12.92 gigabytes of audio. The sound library features the 1943 British Supermarine World War II Mk IX PV202 H5R aircraft and its 1,720 horsepower Rolls-Royce Merlin 66 V12 engine with a Bendix-Stromberg injection carburettor and a Dowty Rotol propeller.

The field recordings collect 20 takes of static and flying takes. Six onboard perspectives mounted in the cockpit, engine and exhaust depict flying at fast and slow speeds, taking off, landing, and taxing. The seven exterior perspectives showcase the plane at three positions and a variety of distances passing by, taxiing, and lifting off and setting down. Also included are static idles, blips, and a suite of performed effects of rudder and flap movement, and more.

The library also includes 18+ fields of Soundminer, BWAV, and MacOS Finder metadata.

Gain Walkers Release Residential Winter – An Ambisonics Sound Effects Library

Residential Winter – Ambisonics brings you 15 ambisonic residential atmospheres recorded during different times of a day in winter: early morning, morning, afternoon, evening and night. In these recordings you will hear birds chirping, traffic, sirens wailing in distance, dogs barking, cats meowing and rooster calls. The recordings done at night and in the early morning are very quiet due to the absence of traffic.

This Ambisonics sound effects library contains the original recordings in A-Format (no processing whatsoever) and in B-format(AmbiX). By using Harpex, 5.1 (LRCLfeLsRs) and stereo (ORTF) mixdowns have been also added. Note that the Lfe channel is mute. It hasn’t been removed to follow the SMPTE  path order.

The Ambisonics version contains all the formats. Stereo version only includes the stereo files. This Soundcloud demo plays the stereo version.

All the recordings have been made with a Sennheiser Ambeo + Zoom F8. All files are in 96 kHz/24 bit and meta-tagged.

Morten Green Sound FX Release Electric Vehicles Vol. 1: Renault Fluence

Here is a library of sounds we are going only hear more of as electric cars become more popular. This Electric Vehicles Vol. 1: Renault Fluence library delivers 111 files / 123 minutes of 96k recordings in mono and stereo of the Renault Fluence Dynamique electric vehicle. The Renault Fluence was one of the first medium sized electric vehicles in Europe, originally produced in 2012. The car is based on the Renault Megane conventional vehicle.

In these recordings, we have recorded the engine with contact mics, capturing the raw sound of the otherwise very quiet electric engine. They also have a lot of tyre sounds on different surfaces, gravel, asphalt and rumble strips on the highway, as well as pass by sounds.

The electronic sounds from the user interface have been recorded in depth.
